Cactus Flower Stacked....

Size reference: this blossom is 15-mm from petal tip to petal tip. For reference a dime is 17-mm in diameter.
Tripod mounted, and 2-sec shutter delay, cable release. Adjustments were made using the forward movement of a Velbon focusing rail

Nikon D300 with 105-macro lens @ 1:1. 1/30-sec @ f/5.6.

Stacking was done using Helicon Focus and then small adjustments were made in sharpening, and highlight areas. Minimal cropping to remove a the intruding petals of a second blossom on the left.

Note to self: Watch for small pricks.

Looks like this stack handled the over lapping prickles pretty good.

Have you tried HDR yet? I think this would look good with that technique.

Yes. I recently posted a close up HDR in the HDR forum. I didn't bracket any Cacti flowers.....
