A large fire was to the North of Perth, and this was one of many flying around..
What is wrong with Ugly Hedgehog? All my photo's look like they have been taken with a mobile phone. You should be able to see every nut and bolt on this bird!
I love the front shot...looks like some creepy bug or an alien about to land...good job
It is amazing how much this looks like a giant dragonfly! Nice set and thanks for sharing.

When you post on UHH, your pics are resized to 600 pixel wide "thumbnails". For full size attachments, check the "store original" box to the right of where you selected your photo.

Nothing wrong. Your photos have been reduced in size for the UHH site. To keep the full size you need to check Store Original when uploading, but this is not recommended if you only want to show the photos.
Another thought: Maybe these photos should be placed in the Photo Gallery? or Photo Analysis if you want feedback?

SirAlistair,
The problem may not be the Forum, but the manner in which you upload images.
There are two ways to upload an image to the forum.
1. The simple method, which you may have used, will accept any common image format (.jpg), and file size, and physical size. The forum will then compress the image to fit the page format, and this compression may distort the sharpness of the image.
2. Store Original will accept the same image as #1 and compress the image for display, but show a link to download the file in its original format.
To overcome the automatic compression of the simple upload try this suggestion: Perform all the normal image editing task you normally use. Just before you save to upload the image perform your own compression. Re-size the image to 1024 pixels wide, at 72dpi, and save this as the simple upload file for UHH.
When the file is uploaded it will be within the parameters of the forum for display on a web page.

The beautiful SK-64 (Army CH-54 Tarhe) a great powerful bird, easy to fly if you are a very experienced helicopter pilot. I was lucky enough to fly them before the Army got rid of them.
