Has anyone used a generic dual battery pack on their 7100? I got one for my D90 when I got it but cannot for the life of me remember where I bought it. Nikon's price seems a bit outrageous for it. I have no issues with using other gear (I have quite a few sigma lens) Any direction you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure an EBay search would reveal several sellers.

I just checked B&H and one is available for preorder. Appears third party grips haven't hit the market yet. I do remember it took awhile for the D600 and the D80 before it. :)

I'm looking for a store front, Adorama doesn't have one, B&H does, maybe I should have asked, who has a generic one, do you like it and where did you get it

What do you mean by "store front"? Physical location?
I think Adorama is at
42 West 18th St.
New York, NY 10011

They could have closed but they were there

That's what I'm looking for ... an internet store that has been in business for more than a year..I don't want to hit a scam site. I'd just like an alternative to BH and Adoram.

From Nikon Rumors
Several different third party battery grips for the Nikon D7100 camera are already available at Amazon, Adorama, B&H and eBay. Even the most expensive option is less than half of the price of the original Nikon MB-D15. Blog

I have a Phottix 3rd party battery grip on my D5100 and it fits/works great. Amazon has several different brands/prices which is where I researched and purchased from. 8-)

I just got my 3rd party battery grip for my D7100 today made by Pixel vertax
. 1st thing I noticed is that it is very heavy and built solid .
I have a genuine Nikon grip on my d90 and this one defenetly
Is heavier all the buttons and command wheels function perfect .
I'm very happy with it compared to the real one on my d90
It also came with the AA battery tray which has saved my butt
A couple of times !!!!! :-D 😃

Have Vello grips on all my cameras and have no complaints. They were recommended by B&H which have never steered me wrong---said they were the best bang for the buck out there. That being said the Vertax mentioned above looks like a nice grip and has a sturdy build. Could you give us a price on that unit???
