Perhaps a better topic would have been street art. The graffiti you are referring to is trash and should not be compared to the beautiful street art found in certain quarters of Melbourne and some other cities.

Life is about how you see it. One mans vandalism is another man's art.
By the extension of that reasoning, Don DeLilo was right: Terrorists are the only true artists left, because they're the only ones capable of truly surprising people
When I think of graffiti I am reminded of a beautiful mountain with a bald rocky out cropping. About a half acre of that rock is covered with spray painted messages mostly in day glow paint. It appears to have mainly been school kids and or other ignorant individuals. It really spoils the foreground in an otherwise beautiful view of surrounding mountains.
Check out the Graffiti Bridge, in Davis, CA.
I've done several shoots using rail cars. They are rolling works of art.
Yep, I am sickened and agree. But I suppose we have to acknowledge that graffiti is in our genes, passed down through millions of species and visible in our cousins as well. Example: mammals and others peeing to mark territory. Conclusion: If you enjoy the fecal matter of others, you will love graffiti.
New Orleans another poor example. If you stand still long enough you can expect to get "Painted" Our company, located in the Bywater area of New Orleans actually has Graffiti insurance!!!
