Yesterday, I had the unique opportunity to observe and photograph the banding of 3 Peregrine Falcon Chicks from a nest high amongst the girders of a highway bridge over the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The adults kept a close watch on us with a near constant barrage of screams and an ocassional swoop. To stay in keeping with the theme of this section, I have appended some of the flight shots I took. Photographing these birds was a real technical challenge. I was limited with what I could carry because of the confined nature of the catwalks and ladders. I chose to take my 10-22mm wide angle for close shots of the banding proceedure and a 70-200 f/4 for the flight shots. The adults were flying in and out of the bright sun into the deep shade under the bridge. since they are so fast and were flying relatively close to us, it was difficult to get them in the viewfinder and focused.

What a cool thing you got to do! I did look at the full set. The poor baby looks very scared and screeching for his mama. Great shots.
