I saw the discussions about the new procedure from Adobe and want to stay away from the Cloud, I if buy this:
http://www.adorama.com/searchsite/default.aspx?searchinfo=cs6 it will not be part of the subscription plan? I can have it on my computer and use it for live without paying future licensing fees, etc. Is this different from "extended" versions, and what is the difference. I would like to buy Photoshop CS6 and once installed never have to have any connection to Adobe again.

You will be fine. I have the extended version so I don't no what the "regular" version is like.

I went to the Adobe website and even read the FAQ's about the cloud. I came away still not knowing for sure if Adobe will discontinue upgrading it. I think that when the cloud version and anything past camera RAW 8 comes out, it is S.O.L. So what? They don't list my lenses anyway. Never have.

No, it won't. You will be OK.

PS CS6 comes in two versions -- Standard and Extended.

If you buy the student educator editions you must have proper documentation or you won't get the codes or a refund.
