Olympus repair connection

To make a long story short -my Olympus OM-D EM-5 was having an intermittent problem. It would sometimes freeze in the on position. I would need to remove the battery to turn it off and restart it. I sent it back to Olympus and It was returned to me, but the problem wasn't fixed. So I will call Olympus tomorrow.
But I was hoping someone here knows someone connected to Olympus.
Thank you all for listening. BTW, I like the camera and it was fine for 8 months.

Better it had the problem now, rather than five months later. I think "it would sometimes freeze" is why they returned it. It worked for them, so it must be OK. Better luck next time. I'd give them a call and explain that it is an intermittent problem.

I wrote it on the repair info slip and put it on the camera and told a rep about the problem. They had my phone number and never contacted me. Thankfully, it's under a year old also i'll buy an extended warrantee for an additional two years.

Be interested to know where you can buy an extended warranty on an 8 month old camera that is having problems?? Who was "a rep" ? Olympus rep? Who is the "They" who had your number?

Where did you get the camera? All camera stores have an assigned factory rep. The store should provide you his/her contact info and they should also know when he/she will be visiting the store so that you can meet with him/her directly if you wish.

As long as the camera is under one year old, Olympus will sell me an extended warranty for two years. That's not true for all manufacturers.

Did not know that. I assume that it's an extension of the "manufacturers Defects" warranty and not a "damage Protection" warranty? Anyway good luck, seems that you are already dialoguing with Olympus.

One can buy a warranty for any Olympus camera under 1 year old. A repair has a warranty of 6 months. All of this is according to the Olympus rep.

What good is a warranty if they can't fix it anyway! Tell them to send you a new camera. If you want good service, buy Canon. That's my opinion.
