I like refurbished equipment, and I've bought it from both eBay and the camera dealer's web site. If you see a dealer selling an item that you like on eBay, check the dealer's website. Sometimes they do not charge shipping on one or the other. I just ordered a refurb camera for someone, and shipping from eBay would have been $12.00, but it was free when ordering from the dealer's web site. Same camera, same price, but no charge for shipping.

I wanted to order spare battery for my new Canon SX50. Free shipping on many items if total is over $25 at amazon. I spent 30 minutes browsing the site trying to figure out what to add to the order to get it UP to $25 :)

That happens so often. You'll have a coupon for $25, but everything is $24.95. I know how extremely difficult it can be to find something you want on Amazon. :D

I have about 150 items on my Wish List.

There's no limit to dreaming. One nice thing about that Wish List is that after I have something on there for a while, I realize I don't really need it.

how about when you put a really low best offer on e-bay, and they accept it.

I tried that with an item I was buying for someone. There had been 14 offers on a "Buy it Now" that was listed for $169. I made three offers, ending at $158 - not accepted. I clicked on Buy it Now.

I did that once and stung myself. The item arrived exactly as described, but I did not read the description carefully enough, paid way too much. Ouch!

That's good to know. I buy a lot through ebay. My main search criteria is Buy It Now and Free Shipping. Oh and as I've stated in other posts, I'm a big fan of refurbished.

I have to laugh...
Did exactly the same thing Linda when I ordered a spare battery for my sx50...so now I have a set of BBQ untensils.

Maybe I should have ordered a BBQ too.
