I was finally able to get a few bees. It's the same one.

Curious for comments from the "Bee Master(s)"

105 @ 1:1 with 20 mm ext and some cropping. SB 400 with DIY-diffuser. Flasj @ 1/4 manual. f/16 manual focus

I don't see how you can do much better than this, flat focal plane, perfect exposure. Looks text book to me. Nice Capture. Only way to improve is to capture with different foregrounds and backgrounds. A yellow flower for example.

Yeah, I've been chasing the bees like this one, but the only flowers they will land on are white. I have red ones on the side and pink ones in the front. Nada. Any clue what kind it is? I tried Bug Guide but couldn't see any bees that had that orange tuft on it. Thanks for the comments.

Not sure of your area, but I love to drive around in the morning to find new areas.. Along the country roads where any of the flowering weeds are I'll find new and exciting subjects. I also find new types of flowering weeds thru out the season. Different flowers with different types of Bees. I have thousands of photographs of different subjects I don't share with you guys, mostly taken along the roads. Also if you can visit a farm with animals, you'll find lots of subjects as well.

I'm in the city-- but that's no excuse. There are lots of "wild areas" close by.

You need to know what your missing: the more wild and native, the more subjects.

Thanks. I must have gone down the wrong rabbit hole-- I didn't see these when I looked.
