put poison out,what it didnt kill moved the nest about 6 feet away.if you dont have fire ant they are very aggressive,if any thing (pet,child,me) accidentally step close to the nest and swarm the intruder and keep biting until you get away and remove the ants from your clothes and body

Yeah, they are nasty. I know it's not environmentally sound, but we used to dump kerosene down the hole and light 'em up.
