Your Favorite combo Organizing and Editing Software
I'd like to hear from the pros . My question is inspired by a GET ORGANIZED article in May's Outdoor Photographer mag .
Namely which of the Organizing & Editing systems mentioned in this article are your favorites?
Apple Aperture 3 , ACDSee Pro 6, Serif PhotPlus 6,
or Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 ?
If you wish to nominate another software system please do so !
THANKS
Lightroom 4 (I like the new LR 5beta) I used to use aperture until I got the message my library is missing, scary sesame with 80,000 images. I found the originals saved them off and got LR and all is good now, I know where my original files are they are controlled by me not by Apple in some mysterious library somewhere.
I don't know about the others, but I recently discovered that Lightroom 4 works well with videos, as well as photos.
Two features I like are the previews that "scrub" with the mouse and the export feature that will make working copies of original clips in project specific folders for editing.

Organizing: Expression Media 2 (formerly the great iView Media Pro, bought by Microsoft because on its best day, Microsoft could never even dream of such a product) and for Editing: Photoshop CS 5.5.

LR 4 and LR 5 Beta----then finish off in PS CS6.

Oops... I'm not a pro. Please disregard my previous vote. Sorry.
Lightroom works great with lots of cataloging options, multiple tags, gps, etc. Also does most of the PP you will ever need.
Lightroom also works well with PSE- I use them both and recommend them both highly. :)

Take a look at Faststone - its free and comprehensive.
I'm not a pro, but I like Photoshop Elements 11. I'm evaluating a Lightroom trial at the moment, but not sold yet on the added cost, especially with the new Camera RAW in Elements.
Now that I mention it, grab a free trial and evaluate yourself. I believe both of the above are fully functional and thirty days. :D

I do all my own organizing and I try to do little if any post because I prefer my photos to look as they did when taken. For minor work I like Fast Stone - it's easy and it's free. I also use Gimp from time to time, also a free program.

I'm not sure it's possible to make photos look like they did when taken... Never understood the concept of not post processing my photos so they look more "natural" either. Your camera sensor doesn't even come close to your eye in terms of color depth and dynamic range.
Lightroom 4 is my favorite . It has lots of whistles and bells to help in the editing process but will not change your originals. It is very intuitive to learn. You can easily export your photo into PE 11 or other Photoshop version for more extensive editing. You can try a 30 day trial from Adobe.com.
I have used the free Google Picasa program for years. If you are not into advanced editing, but just want to organize and do simple editing tasks, look into it. It's great and is very easy to use. I still use it for organizing my family photos.
