Finally found two larger jumpers. Most I have seen are tiny. The second would not sit still, but I now know where he lives I will get a better shot.

These are good! You're definitely getting better. I like the detail that's coming through.

Your stink bug is the brown marmorated stink bug, a serious nuisance and agricultural pest in the mid Atlantic states. It was first accidentally introduced from the Far East in 1998 and now can be found from coast to coast.

For your second image, probably a Bold Jumping spider (Phidippus audax) your exif info says Nikon D90 at ISO 400, (Nikkor?) 105-mm macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/16. Looks like direct speedlight illumination. did you use a diffuser? Your exposure data looks optimal.
I am surprised to see leg movement on far left, and overall lack of sharpness. Has this image been heavily cropped?

Your second image looks like twin speedlight illumination. Decent detail. Fairly harsh lighting = noticeable shadows.

Third image is nicely detailed, but very busy background.

I did use the diffusers on twin flash on first spider. Second one was with speed lite and diffuser. Background on the third was carpet where it was crawling.

Small plastic snap-on diffusers are still too small for use in macro illumination. I have added a 6-in x 8-in softbox to increase the surface size of my illumination. Speedlight must be of sufficient power to adequately illuminate entire softbox diffuser surface.

Nikon D5000 camera with Nikkor 105G lens, and Nikon SB-600 speedlight with Fotodiox softbox.
Nikon D5000 camera with Nikkor 105G lens, and Niko...

Pre-photography housekeeping sometimes requires moving a subject to a neutral or more appropriate setting.
