Hi can any one suggest a solution for this please??
Most years (but not this year) we go to Germany to the GSD Sieger Show where I use my Camcorder (Panasonic HDC-HS60) to Record the Show, see link.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWhTL29INkAAnd also use the Camcorder to take Still Photos, see Photos below. not the best Focus
Having recently acquired a Canon SX40 (love it) I would like to take both next year, so I am looking for a Tripod Bracket to fit my HAMA Gamma 72 Tripod.
The Camcorder to be centre of Tripod mount (to pan) the CANON to one side.
Any suggestions please.

Unfortunately the tripod is a very basic mount and I believe the head does NOT come off, you would need to buy better legs and a separate head.
Pop in if you pass and I will show you and take a look
Thanks JR1, will keep your offer in mind

You could use a Super Clamp from Manfrotto or others and clamp it to the leg of the tripod just below the head. These clamps also allow you to mount a mini-ball head to them so you would have total flexibility with the still camera and not interfere with the video camera. I sometimes use these to mount a GoPro camera to my tripod legs and shoot instructional videos for my classes.
Here is the clamp I use:

Me, I'd say your tripod is the problem. Lots of jerks in your video, all that's caused by the tripod you're using.
My belief is that if you add a couple of simple things you can do all your work hand held (with lots of practice) and change the entire look of your video.
The video's technical quality, focus, light, etc. are all good.
I qualify my above by telling you that I did a career in broadcast television video work here in the states - about 30 years. You must be able to hand hold a steady camera for that work. So obviously I learned a lot about steady hand held camera.
An IS lens and a mountable view finder (for a dslr camera) will make all the difference and learning to manually focus.
Good luck

Don`t disagree with you but there are a number restrictions to your statement.
1st the total length of the Show covers 3 days from 8am to 5pm approx, most of which is sat down.
2nd it takes a lot of concentration to Hand hold a relativly small Camcorder for that length of time,I know thats how I started.
3rd My age, will be 70 in August so a Tripod is very useful & is always ready for me to press the start button, and allows me to Video over the Heads of the People in front
4th being sat down restricts your shots to what you can see & what other Spectators allow you to see.
5th I agree the Tripod is a cheapie, but with Cost of Trip (over a £1000.00) a new Tripod may have to wait on my Pension.
6th I have used my SX40 for Video (Training Class) & was not impressed, Camcorder best for Video + reasonable Stills, Camera for Stills + Reasonable Video. i.e. believe in using the correct tools for the job.
Hope that makes sense Jimmy A.
Best Wishes
