My first official photo shoot for a friend of a friend. Can't believe how hard, but fun working with children is.

Getting two faces in focus is difficult. Any suggestions.

Very nice Karenn! I did that for 20 years and enjoyed every set I did. Most of the time kids are great to shot. You did a nice job and I can tell by the way the little girl looks in the pictures that she was very comfortable with the way you were talking and working with her. Just look at the eyes. They are locked on you in some of them. Very nice work Karenn!!!

Hi again Karenn! These are adorable - you've captured some very precious moments very well! Are these all natural light are did you use a flash or reflector?

I've been catching as much as I can of the 3 day CreativeLive workshop that is in progress now on newborn photography by your fellow Australian photographer, Kelly Brown. Can't wait to put all her tips and techniques into practice in a couple of months. I highly recommend that you tune in if possible - it is mesmerizing: http://www.creativelive.com/live1

Thanks, these were done at my home. I put a dark sheet up on a wall in a bedroom that has windows either side/end. It was completely natural light. I do have a reflector but it wasn't needed and I did not use a flash. This was the same room I took the preganacy shots a while ago. It was done with a new protrait lens F1.8 and ISO 400-800 on some (varied) Enjoy your course, looks wonderful.

Getting two faces in focus is difficult. Any suggestions.

How about a little more DOF?

Also could try keeping both faces in the same plane by bringing the girl a little forward or you moving around to the left some. True a higher f-stop would do it, if you could still hand-hold it with a slower shutter speed.

Nice series. You did good keeping their attention. Obviously not the kids from hell.

Thanks, They were nice kids although the baby was very upset from time to time. Ella loves to pose as you can see. Moving around to the left I was worried that I would loose my backgound. But saying this I had them too close to the background for any real DOFeild. A challenge but one I like. Thanks for your welcomed comments.

Yes, I had them too close to the background, I realise this now. Thanks, noted for next time.
