Nesting Robin Family 11... And then there were 4!

I was prepping my 2nd floor windows from inside the house for painting when I heard a commotion in one of my holly trees. I search the trees for any motion and then I caught some movement... there it was below and to the left of my window about 25-30 feet away.. a nesting robin family that was partially obscured by some leaves. Luckily there was a slight breeze that gently moved the leaves back and forth giving me a teasingly short view of the robin family all together. I timed the winds movement of the leaves and took the following photos. I'll need to get my step ladder out and try to trim some leaves when both are away from the nest to get a better line of sight to the nest.
Canon 40D DSLR camera - Handheld/Window Braced
Canon 70-200mm lens w/1.4 Tele-Extender (280mm)
ISO 640 - 1/90th sec @ f/5.6 Natural light - Cloudy Bright/Cropped
P.S. I just discovered that there are Four (4) baby Robins!!!! :):):):)

Having upload problems... I uploaded it correctly and it was turned on its side in UHH!!!! Had to skew the photo to look correct on UHH!!! Is someone messing with me???:(

I just hope that the baby Robins survive... rain storm, wind storm, cat, squirrel, etc...
Oh, I forgot to mention it... Mommy and Daddy Robin kick butt on Mr. Squirrel today... I have been watching the squirrels and none have ventured onto the nest limb... they were nowhere close to the nest or limb but Mommy and Daddy Robin didn't even want Mr. Squirrel in their tree! Tee-Hee. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

At first I only saw 3 of them. I named them Sleepy, Dopey, and Hungry in one of the photos. If you haven't seen it yet take a look and you will see why I gave them those names. I have recently discovered and named the 4th one "Shyness" because it stayed hidden from sight for so long. But maybe it isn't shy but it is weak from not getting enough food and it is slowly dying... I hope not... I might be getting them confused and maybe it is so well fed that it doesn't get up at every feeding which is quite often... about every 5-10 minutes during my watch.

Robins are indeed committed to their young... it is mother nature at work... They will even die at times protecting their babies from predators. They work from the break of dawn until the setting of the sun working feverishly feeding their young trying to give them every chance at life. They protect them from the night cold and from the rains by laying and cuddling over them...
