Sigma Optimization Pro software for their soon-to-ship USB dock is available.
For those who don't know, Sigma's new line of lenses that came out last year are game changers.
They have been getting rave reviews and their 35mm is testing out as the sharpest 35mm in production...and that includes Zeiss.
Well...part of the package is the optional USB dock that allows you to update the lens firmware, and set focus parameters such as focus point at varying distances, and at varying focal lengths (in the case of zooms) and to set the AF speed.
They've now got the software available here:

How do I find out if my Sigma lens will benefit from this program?
Isn't this a cop out, I pay enough for my Sigma lenses to want them to perform as they should out of the box.

Two things:
1.) Just because focus needs to be fine-tuned between camera and lens doesn't mean that there is something wrong with either product. It's just the nature of manufacturing tolerances. My 5DIII has the ability to adjust MF by lens...and I've done them all.
In the past we'd have said "I got a soft copy of the 35mm...I had to exchange 2 before I got a good one..."
When in reality, that exact lens would be GREAT on a camera where the tolerances were shifted the opposite direction.
2.) Second...all lenses need to be adjusted unless you get lucky and own a camera and lens that are "biased" in their tolerances the same direction.
Make sense?
