Ok, I'm just a beginner.

I have a canon rebel t41, my lens is a 18 -135mm and it works for what I do but when I go up the hill for a beautiful view I wish I have a better one. Any suggestions? Do I need also a filter??

Thanks

Lupita

Try a circular polarising filter

Nothing to do with the lens, also use a grad filter

This is timely. Yesterday I got 5 cokin filters and a holder with some used gear. One is a ND Grad. So, in this case, would the user put thhe dark half at the bottom, to burn in the sky/distant scenery? I remember dodging and burning in the darkroom, 30 years ago, am I trying to do the same thing with the filter?

Welcome to the UHH forum and howdy from Houston!

Perhaps a different time of day so the light is coming from a different angle.

No, the dark half is generally used on the top. This aids ii obtaining the proper exposure without over exposing the top (bright area), or under exposing the bottom (darker area).

First welcome you have a great camera. Thanks for the photo. Looks like lots of smog. Can you clarify for me the following statement. What is it about your lens that makes you want a better one. What is it you wish it would do, or what is it that it is not doing? And yes the CPL filter is good but don't over do it. I will give you more upon reply.

Try early in the day or late in the day to get better light.

Yes I love my camera!
My question about the lens it's because when up on the hill I want to bring some objects closer.
Last time I found a beautiful view of the beach and a pier but I couldn't make a good shot

Lupita You have a very nice Camera and lens. That lens is quit well thought of. Some times even with zoo lenses we just need to walk closer or further back. Just shoot shoot shoot and evaluate!
