This installment focuses mainly on the Rio Grande River and Santa Elena Canyon
We hiked this trail about 1/2 mile back into the canyon.
The Rio Grande River as seen through this gap between the rocks
The Rio Grande River as seen from the Texas side, Mexico across the river
The Rio Grande, looking upstream from the Texas side
Liked this rock formation along a hiking trail
A natural warm spring at the end of the trail, Mexico is just across the river.
Rio Grande River looking downstream from the warm spring
One of several pictographs along trail leading to warm spring
Another nice rock formation with early evening light. The cacti growing at the top added a bit of visual interest.

Thanks for sharing this spectacular scenery. My favourites are the second with the zig-zag window and the last one. Do you have any idea how old the pictographs are?

Thanks for viewing, glad you liked them. Sorry, I don't know the age of the pictographs. We were on our own, not with a guide.

Thanks for viewing & comments. I'm no geologist, but that was just such an interesting formation.
