I have a hard time changing the original photo to something that expresses a different feeling. I like my originals. I am trying to venture out of my comfort zone and would appreciate your help. Did I make any positive changes in any of these? Please let me know what you like and do not like. Opinions and professional critique appreciated.

Original is definitely better. Second photo too dark.

Liking the 2nd. Have to wonder tho...a polarizer would have intensified those clouds.

My choice is the third. It's pin sharp with color simplicity, almost monochrome. Personally, I prefer natural color which is almost B & W, than the photographer choosing B & W for reasons escaping my range of understanding.

I prefer the second. I like the increases in texture and contrast.

Thank you for your points of view. I honestly appreciate it.

The third, I reduced the saturation level to approach a b&w without loosing all the detail I did when I tried b&w. Had hoped b&w would have worked but it looked bad to me. Didn't think this was too bad.

Second photo I thought was too dark as well but my daughter liked it so I figured I better post it too.

Feel free to play with the images. I am trying to learn more about effects and editing. Thank you again :)

I like shots like this. I like them all, but I think No.2 is my favorite. It may be a bit darker as someone said, but I don't think that takes anything away from the picture. And, I like the extra pop in color in No.2. Well done.

I like #2 better. One thing that I would do is to crop the sky to a little above the cloud and darken the sky. I would also crop the bottom so that the longer dead grass on the right is the bottom of the image (remove the uninteresting bottom). Just my 2 cents.
