I have trouble with my neck and I currently have a hand strap for my Nikon 5100, any ideas for a comfortable neck strap?

Thanks,
Ivy

In the search facility enter "Camera strap" and see what others have already said.

Optech, and do not hang the camera off your next
1 it makes you look like a rookie, 2 hinders your ability to move fast.
Carry cosss chest, look at the slings ( optech uses camera strap lugs) Others use tripod socket ( not optimal)

What about a Black Rapid strap .... more of a shoulder strap. I have two and love them

I also have the black rapid. It is the double dr1 it will also break down into a sling strap.Very comfortable and puts the weight on your shoulders. It has wide shoulder straps and helps disperse the weight.

Another option is a vest.

Look at the Op/tech dual harness - works great to keep the one camera off your neck

I just purchased the Spyder Pro Holster, it foregoes the neck approach altogether...it's a waist holster. You might want to investigate that also.
