Aspens From The Ground Up. These majestic trees in NM are slowly disappearing. I took this with a Nikon Cool Pix 8700 laying on a fallen aspen looking up at its bare beauty.

An interview with Lorima

I started when my boys where born some 15 years ago, to capture as many memories as possible, it has grown since then.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training. I love taking photo's of family, landscapes and wildlife.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I saw these trees in a park, loved the way they were grouped together while snow was gently falling on them, and had to capture that moment.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
This photo was taken with my Nikon Coolpix L100 not special setup was used.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
No, I like it the way it is.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Travel, we love exploring new countries and seeing different cultures.

An interview with bearofsantafe

Thank you for this.........

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I've been in photography for about 35 years and always loved just trying to capture the moment.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
I've had no formal training just reading and trying out different things.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I was snow shoeing in NM one winter day and after hours of walking I laid down across a fallen Aspen for a while. Looking up at the bare Aspens and the overcast sky the majestic beauty caught my attention.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Used, at the time, Nikon Coolpix 8700 with standard zoom lens and no special equipment.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I've since upgraded to a Nikon D7000 with various fixed and zoom lenses. I would definitely shoot in large raw to have a ability to poster size some of my pictures. Since purchasing the D7000, I now shoot most of time in large raw.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
I would build and fly RC planes & helicopters and parasail.

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
I'm working on a web site to have my work shown there. Will post when it's available.
