Wanted to share some of the pics from our trip to Big Bend N.P. a couple of years ago. I will be doing these in installments, as I have quite a few that I wanted to show. Compared to my home base in Houston, it was like being in another world. Comments/questions welcome. Hope you enjoy.
Taken from the car. This road leads into the park
One of the many trails in the park.
View from Lost Mine Trail. This is a true wilderness.
I believe this is an ocotillo plant.
Another view from Lost Mine Trail. One of my personal favorites.
We did not see any mountain lions or bears, only a few skunks.
Lots of beautiful rock formations; taken about 7 pm
The evening sun really emphasizes the 3d effect.
Sunset from Chisos Mountains Lodge
Went there in Nov 2011. I loved the place especially Chisos Basin but Rio Grande Plaza was nice too. the information on it doesn't do it justice. I highly recommend it as a place to visit and camp. I definitely want to go back!
