Steady Shot Cotton Carrier Help

I STOP TO SHOOT Loc: By the No. CA Sea

Good Morning, I have searched the UHH Topics, found things on the Cotton Carrier, but could not find anything on the Steady Shot Cotton Carrier. Hence I am writing this question to you lovely people.

Is there any of you UHH who have had the Steady Shot Cotton Carrier? Pros and Cons please of your experience?
http://buy.cottoncarrier.com/cotton-carrier-steady-shot-p/777ssb.htm

I am almost 70, I say this age so you understand the reason for the question. I love taking pictures, but my hands have gotten too shaky to get a sharp shot, I carry a tripod (Ravelli APGL4 sturdy tripod, but heavy and doesn't work well in the car) it makes a difference, but when I was going through a drive through wildlife safari, yeah you get it!

So I have been looking at the Steady Shot cotton carrier set up and would like to know if anyone has gotten this set up? What do you think about it? I know many who responded to previous questions regarding The Cotton Carrier with a positive response. I am going further with the Steady Shot attachment as I have put in the Web site of what it looks like.

I thank you ahead for taking the time to read and for those who respond.

Happy shooting....

I use the Panasonic FZ150. This camera hasVery good stabilisation. Then using a camera strap round my neck and press outwardsand use the rear screen. I have acute hypertension and am also nearing 70..In the car I have a window suction clamp for the window or a window clamp tripod. I am told that the Olympus CSC camera is also very good.Richard

The biggest problem with the Steadi Shot is that it rests on your chest and transmits not only your breathing to the camera, but also your heartbeat. I used one for one day and sent it back.

I too am getting close to 70. I am monopod dependent for sports shooting and tripod dependent in studio and landscape. A few years ago I added the Cotton Carrier vest to carry two cameras while shooting sports. But I rarely used it then and don't use at all now. For me it was too cumbersome, hot in the summer, and the weight of both cameras took it's toll on me. If I were a hiker I wouldn't want that strapped to me - I would pack a light weight tripod instead. So I can't image a situation where it would out perform the Mono-Tripod. IMHO, it would not work for video - as it would not be steady enough if you move about. I prefer a Merlin Steadicam II for that.

If you do buy one.....let me know how it works.

Thank you Chard351 I have a window vice with a good grip to move camera, but the slant in the window, doesn't all a good experience. I also have the Gorilla, but that doesn't work securely on car windows and other possibilities. I will keep searching, but I do so thank you for your suggestions...

I would like something similar that won't hurt my back - almost impossible. The one I suggested weighs 5 pounds.

texaseve: I am not so concerned with weight, as I am being able to keep camera steady and if I have it on can shoot from the car or when I step out of the car and the camera I use is a Nikon D90 with the biggest lens is a 70-300. Heat is not a big factor because I live on the coast and the temp stays in the 60's during the summers. So my focus is steady. As MT Shooter said he didn't like his because of the heat and etc. So the jury is still out...

Thank you and good luck to you...
