After Nikonian 72 recommended, checking out the true macro photography forum of this site, I decided to jump right in, albeit with an old (several years) picture of an yellow jacket. I shot this using a 75mm/f2.8 Pentax lens in reverse on a Canon 5D M II on a macro slider (f16, ISO 400)

This wasp is up-close & personal! Suggestion: In the future, please check the box labeled "(store original)", so we can download & enlarge to appreciate detail & resolution.

Do you still use a reversed Pentax lens on a Canon body with a macro slider? If so. we would like to see a photo of set-up here: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-32754-1.html

Thank you Douglass, I will do that next time. To answer the question: No I actually upgraded to a macro bellows (also Pentax), but I still use the 75mm and/or the 55mm (both Pentax and f/2.8. I guess now I have to take a pic of my set-up to show..... I will do that.

Welcome to the best forum on UHH. Macro is an addiction--but there is a support group-- and you found it.
Say together with us: "Hello, my name is ___________ and I am a Macroholic".
Nice photo, too.
Oh, and look up "Bazinga!"

Please read and inform yourself of the implications of pressing the save original button before you decide to do so. This is merely an option.
Unless you have a specific reason to do so you may decide it is not in your best interest. I can enjoy your work without all the encrypted information that is not required by this sight. Thank You ~Tim~
That may be, but if you wish to get the best help from experienced macro shooters, they will request that you click "store original". The point is not an individual's enjoyment of these images-- but their ability to make suggestions that will help you improve.

The cold facts are these: you have to balance whether or not you want to improve vs. the chances of someone down-loading (and stealing) your image. You can always use a smaller file size, if that is your concern.

Frankly, (and I hope I don't offend anyone here), there are many images superior on the web. Don't believe me? Google it.

I also suggest that you take advice from macro-photographers WHO POST TRUE MACRO-PHOTOGRAPHY on this forum, and of sufficent quality to make you want to inmprove. There are those among us who are long on advice, but short on skill. This is a teaching forum. ALL of my macro-photographs that I post are downloadable, so that you may enlarge to examine plane of focus & DoF, etc.

The unspoken creed of this forum is DO AS I DO, not do as I say. And the many talented, participating macro-photographers on this forum, will provide any information that you need to improve.
