Hi, my name is Stephan Peters, I grew up in Hamburg Germany, but now live in beautiful Idaho. I've been lurking around a few days now and I think it's time to introduce myself. I have only been on one other forum so far, (Elements Village) and fell in love with it and the people on that forum, I thought it must be the best place on the net. Like I said, I've been checking in for a few days now and I really like this one too, looks like an excellent place to throw out the anker for a while. I enjoyed taking pictures for a long time -in the late 70's early 80's I was shooting with a Nikon F2 (a camera I still miss to this day). Nowadays I'm shooting Canon and went digital about a little over five years ago (very reluctantly). I still shoot a lot with film as well. I also used to do a lot of movie shooting ( 8mm & 16mm) still have a movie camera, but don't use it hardly anymore, because it has gotten sooo expensive to run.
Welcome to the UHH forum and howdy from Houston!

Hi Peter and welcome to the club. Our daughter moved to Moscow almost 20 yrs. ago from San Antonio, Texas. My wife and I have driven the almost 2000 miles 3 times to visit that gorgeous state and consider that route the longest but most photographic trip we've ever had. My daughter is about to have a longtime friend move to Boise with her family and will drive down soon to help move them in. Enjoy the very many photo opportunities in that area.

Welcome Stephan! You've found a great place to drop anchor! Everyone has been so helpful to me, for pictures as well as information in the chit-chat section! I was very much into film shooting so digital in some ways was easier and in some ways harder ( I think because of terminology). But the good news is....with the DSLRs, if you don't like the image, erase it and take another. Nothing wasted. Welcome again!
A big thank you to all of you for the warm welcome!!
Stephan
