Cute Little Racoon Stealing The Cat Food

This little guy has been coming up to the porch for his nightly snack the past couple of weeks. I had the door half way open to take his photo, he just looked at me and kept on eating. The cats and raccoon seem to get along together so that's a relief.

Nice shot Lorima, they never sit still here in the city long enough to get a close up like that.

I hope your cat food is inaccessible to the coon. You realize you will never get rid of him. I had to start putting my cat food for the barn cats in 5 gallon pails that I hung from a water pipe in the barn so the coons couldn't get it. They are horribly destructive creatures. They could decimate a 40 pound bag of cat food in 2 nights.

I feed the barn cats who come up to porch around 5pm sit with them until they are done. Then I put a good handful of catfood in the bowl with some water for the coon around 8-9pm when he shows up by this time the barn cats are gone. When the food in his bowl is gone its gone. So everyone is happy. I never keep catfood outside. It is inside away from critters. We do not have a cat or dog door either.

Great images! You realize the animal activists call us "Feeders" and consider us bad people...there are TV shows about us and how we get killed when the bears come, etc. I feed my opossums and need to photograph them. A good photo would be with the cats playing with them. I know raccoons are around but never see them. Keep up the good work!

Racoons are cute, aren't they? When we used to vacation in Canada we'd rent a cottage on the lake and almost every night a racoon would be on the shed roof peering in the kitchen window watching as we played board games! They loved bacon in the mornings! :) Good shots Lorima!

How cute having a racoon on the shed roof watching you play board games, did you ever take any photo's of him? and who doesn't like bacon in the mornings. When our kitty hears the bacon wrapper in the mornings she is the first one in the kitchen.
