I am a southerner, can you tell? I am also a mom of 3; two of them grown and on their own, I am a retired RN. Always have loved and wanted to be a photographer. So now with some spare time I have been intensely studying this art! I love the tips on this site; very helpful! I have a dream to be a professional children's and people in general photograher. Love taking pics of folks just doing what they do! Here is a small sampling of my most recent work. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated!

#1 - eyes are tricky and people seem to have their own favorite way; but to me there is too much reflection. Maybe either shade some of the direct light or edit it out. #2 - you know better then I but the skin tone seems a little too pink for me. Also a little aqua color under her chin - maybe an ear ring. #3 - great picture. My only question would be the fingers in the picture lower right as some may find them a distraction. But then - what do I know. Thanks for sharing.
thanks you! on pic #1; sometimes I have thought that myself on the catch lights..will figure that one out so I don't have to edit them out.
#2 yes, that is an earring; but I never saw it! thanks for pointing it out, now I know to even look CLOSER at the pic when editing! 50 year old eyeballs will not catch that as I am shooting the pics!
#3-yea, I agree..the fingers gotta go!
Thanks again! T
