Late again. Bad habits are hard to break.

p26 Different kinds of motion here… eagles are so majestic. Raindrops = water in motion. Jealous of your eagle shots. Practice, Pat, just keep practicing - I heard you say that Bushido.

Good evening everyone. I had tried to get on sooner so I could see more of you all but no rest for the weary in a hospital... I am back (as far as I know) tomorrow for surgery for them to put in my Hickman(sp) it is what I will be getting chemo through. I have no real viable veinsler for blood draws for lab work. I love that the Dr's and nures all weigh in on the situation so we can come up with a plan together that we can tweek. You all continue to produce fantastic photos and should be very for the things that you proud of yourselves. I have opened a site in Caring Brige.org. I will try to post the link to it so that if you woud like to be kept up to speed it might be easier. Love to all of you. You are the ones that keep me swimming!

Tried hard to get some panning shots from our dogs today. The problem is that our backyard is too small to really get good shots with all the plants and so will try the dog park tomorrow if the weather is good.

p27 Hi, Marj. Seems like every part of your "babies" is in motion. Love it!

No, that image is an archived print. Now that I think about it shooting on rainy days might be a good challenge for someone to host one day.

pg 26 What a handsome eagle.... Looks like he has stolen someone's swimming goggles . . . .
Love the rain drops as well.

I went out with my local camera club last night and got one motion pic of the fountain in the square - please note the sun was shining! We have had three beautiful days. . . must be summer!

p28 Good one Suejay!!! Love the light (and the motion too)

Inspired to give it a try, I set the camera on manual, and shoot a couple of pretty bad motion shots. I notice two robins doing there annual spring mating dance right in front of me. Here I am, standing there, camera in hand watching them. After some great in flight activity (looks like their fighting but I know better) It hits me I should be taking pictures (duh), of course the camera is set up for blurry motion, and I snap 3 pics before they flit off out of sight. Dang. Anyway, here's the motion attempts, and all I got of the robin dance.

p28 BigDaddy - hip hip hooray! You got some great motion shots and you tried something new! High 5 to you - that last robin shot shows motion. and I can see the beginnings of a good pan with the bus.

I am learning so much here. I have had some "happy accidents" with panning but when trying to do it on purpose, it does tend to be a bit more challenging. Here are a couple of unsuccessful practice shots from yesterday.

p29 twna, Gracie and I really appreciate the posters who have said they tried and failed. "Failure" is an opportunity to learn. I am posting some of mine in a few. I LOVE your last shot - I think it's because the "underdog's" face is a little more sharply focused and stands out. I think you should give yourself a pat on the back!

It ended up being a nice day here today, so took grandson outside to practice some more. I know the one of my grandson is not that great, but like how the little rake came out.

p30 Agnesm you are definitely getting the hang of this. I too love the wiggly rake in the first shot. The man walking and the car are great. Your persistence and practice is paying off.
