I will say so. I particularly like image #4.

And don't hesitate to crop a bit.

All of your images were captured at ISO 200, 1/200-sec at f/8. I would liked to have seen deeper DoF at f/16.
I suggest increasing your ISO to 400 (+ 1-stop), and increasing your speedlight output by 1-stop, to allow f/16.

Is your speedlight set on manual or TTL?

Actually, this is a crop. I enlarged the original to 100% and cropped this small flower. This is the original.

Not so familiar with the settings yet. I have it set on Slave and the zoom to 105mm.

Which speedlight, and is it attached to camera hotshoe? Which diffuser?

I have a hotshoe-mounted Canon 550EX speedlite and the large Fotodiox diffuser.

Pretty good. I recommend higher f-stop: at least f16.

You have excellent equipment. I suggest ISO 400, 1/200-sec at f/16 (Manual). You can manual focus, or small center-spot A-F.

You need to direct the speedlight & diffuser more down, than straight-ahead. This will illuminate your macro subject from above. Set your speedlight to Manual. Set flash pattern to normal or wide-angle to soften light. Adjust the flash output by using the "+" or "-" buttons.

Start with a neutral-colored, stationary subject. After first capture, adjust your exposure by + or - on speedlight.

Thanks so much, Douglass. I'll give it another go.
