my surprised discovery

I was walking on a trail looking or something interesting when I looked up to find a bird and found this to my left I am terrified of snakes but he was not worring about me so I took advantage of that. If he had started moving I would have ran lol

The two words "Ugh" and "Execellent" immediately and at the same moment came to mind. Thankyou for sharing the interesting photo's.

Great shot! When I was a kid in Central Florida, I'd see these a lot. We called them Blacksnakes. A few people called them Kingsnakes. If this is the same specie, this snake is harmless, and helpful, but keep them away from your henhouse; they love eggs.

Im not a snake person but thought since it was not moving and I was there then why not take the opportunity.

I know they are not poisouness but I really just am terrified of snakes.

Rat snakes are not black. they are brown

You are mistaken! Rat snakes comes in many colors.

Google rat snake. You will see the almost identical snake,

I have seen these Rat snakes in WV many times.

All black.

The shape of the head is a dead giveaway.
