Looking for recommendations for a Good Camera Neck Strap for my D7000 which can take the weight of a heavy lens 70-200 F/2.8
Often the Nikon Brand Strap that came with the Camera can get uncomfortable around my neck after a while, so am reaching out to my fellow UHH mates for some comfortable recommendations, that you may currently use or know off.
Cheers Mates.

OPTECH sling with optional accessory lead.
Black Rapid shoulder strap. I can wear it all day with my 5d camera and 70-200 lens. I'm sure there are other brands the main thing is to get the weight off the back of your neck.

I use a BlackRapid RS-7 with my μ4/3 ILM and bridge superzooms. However, I have always been concerned about putting the weight of a DSLR and heavy zoom on the tripod socket. I have now seen several (albeit slightly) bent tripod socket plates and am an even stronger believer. When BlackRapid comes out with a way to use the strap loops (like OPTECH), I will be thrilled. In the meantime, if you use a tripod socket mount with a DSLR and heavy lens, I advise using a lens with a tripod collar, attaching the main screw to the lens, with a second screw and safety link to the camera.

Aaron - Optech Utility Sling -
http://optechusa.com/straps/utility-strap-sling.htmlThe photo is a little confusing as it appears to suggest attachment to only one camera lug. Never fear, the sling comes with attachments for two camera lugs which will comfortably take the weight of your camera and a 70-200 lens. I'm impressed !

I agree the Black Rapid shoulder strap is excellent.
Optec is the only one for me, spreads the weight across my back and not on the 2 nerniated discs in my neck, would never use anything else.
I have used nothing but OpTech straps on my cameras since 1982, and I still use that first one every day, it is now on my Nikon D7100. They are priced right and will literally outlast your camera. Also the most comfortable strap on the market. I can personally recommend both the sling strap and Pro Loop strap models for single camera use with any lens attached.
I use the black rapid shoulder strap. Works ok, but I must always check the metal snap hook to make sure that the locking mechanism is tight. Had it come loose twice and it did come un-hooked from the camera. I do have a question about the OpTech and that would be the fasteners. They look like they are made from a plastic type material. I have used those type fasteners in the past and after a some time they had gotten weak and would disconnect when least expected. Just a little watch out for both type straps. So I guess whatever floats your boat will work. Any strap used always, always, check those fasteners.

That is a concern we all have. New fasteners have been developed which require two or three simple but separate operations to unlatch. Let's hope they are incorporated into the market in a timely fashion.
Optech has shoulder harness that attaches to the camera strap loops.
MUCH safer and more secure than hauling a rig by the tripod socket.
I used a Black Rapid with a 1D Mk II and 100-400 lens. While I have had no issues, I had concerns of that much weight focused on a device designed to support the camera from the bottom.
Now the black rapid is doing duty under my 60D and a wide angle lens.
I can't speak for Nikon, but the factory Canon "neck straps" are not at all comfortable and I replace them the day I get a body with a foam QR strap. ( Think 120 grit)
As an added bonus the Optech straps are less money

Canon and Nikon factory camera straps are the best thing that ever happened to companies like OP-TECH, Domke, BlackRapid, etc.
Optitech is the only one I've found that has no flaws. It is also less than the Black Rapid. I had a Black Rapid but to me it is overpriced for a strap that I never felt I could trust as I have the 70-200 on at grandkids sports. I also have a monopod attached often. Have fun and keep shootin'. mike
I use the Op/Tech Bino harness: instead of the weight hanging around your neck, it is divided between your shoulders and across your back.

Thank you all. Based on all your good recommendations have just purchased the OPTECH sling
