Thought I would start a thread where we could show off portraits, not necessarily of older people, but just of people.

Interesting, it almost looks like a statue but I really like it.
Val! This is awesome. The pose, the almost desperate expression, the lighting, focus, whatever that thing she is inside of, the color all add together to a terrific shot to rival any portrait I have ever seen. You blow me away with your talent!
nice work! Strong emotion. :D Obviously not new to the lens.
Here is a pet portrait. Just to add a bit of humor to this thread.

Thank you for the opportunity, Richard :)
I'm not a portrait photographer, yet. I've taken some but don't consider them anything more than snapshots (except one I took years ago of my daughter Emily who was running for Student Body President. I'm STILL proud of that one, but it's not accessible now).
Here's what I mean by not up to snuff (these were taken with a P&S, I have a MUCH better camera and editing skills now, so look out world!):
Trip and Taylor in B&W
Birthday Cake
Smile on Nana's porch
Rachel and Trip
She is a real Ham which is good for me
This is one of my favorite portraits of my grandson trying to catch snow flakes.
