The town of Sturgis has many different views from being a military town to being a town that is farming and ranching but the thing that Sturgis is best known for is its Bike Week during the Fall with Sturgis being the main focal point.
Well for the past few years I have been driving past these two bikes that are on display at the local gas station right off the Exit into Sturgis on the west side and Saturday my wife and I were out riding around doing Find A Grave and I said to her that it was time to do some snap shots of the bikes so here they are in all of their splendor two bike that are not afraid of the elements and in fact welcome all of the moisture that is thrown at them for it is about RUST and Rat Motorcycles.
This is a the one that I got the real kick out of Twin Cylinders and a springer seat'
This is the other one if you don't like power then maybe Pedal power is more your style here is a Rat Cycle you pedal.
Twin power and seat from an old implement of farm equipment, flex pipe for exhaust into a real muffler.
I think that you may be able to lease this for the next rally
Here is a bit better picture of the Springer Seat the spring is right under the left hand Jug. Some of the pictures may hot be the best I am shotting with a new camera I have only had for a couple of week ,,, waiting for the fit to happen.

Nice photos, nice bike :D
You said that you and your wife were out looking for a grave. Are you into genealogy? That's my wife's hobby. She does it big time. Just wondering

My wife is into the genealogy big time also but I am involved in the taking of the pictures for the graves she claims. People all over the world are involved in this and with all of us as Volunteers we take pictures of love ones graves that because of the distance they can not travel to. So my wife does all of the paper work and I do the driving and the shooting. Check us out at Findagrave.com.

Keep a look out I will be posting more in the near future....on our trip into the old mining town of Gelena we were on an old back road and one that the Jetta did not like and we came up to a couple of old Rat Rods and a tractor rusted but still nice looking, but the road was so muddy that we did not stop but in a week it should be dry then we will go back!!! It is fun to say the least!!!
I keep trying and who knows I might get a great someday , these were for the fun of it and I think that was a lesson for me on a new camera, Fugi does an all right job just have to learn the features a bit better. Have been using a Kodak for the past 7 or 8 years and would have gotten a new one of theirs but they are shutting down the manufacture of camera so upward and onward .
Someone has a good imagination.

That sounds like a great hobby, and an excuse to get out there. The notor is interesting, would it be a Winsconsin? My Grandad had one on his baler, air cooled V4, handle start. Good luck, Andrew

To tell you and others the truth I don't know what is "Powering" the rat cycle but any suggestions would be more insight than I have right now. Thanks for stopping to look!!!
And that is the one both the wife and I are members. It is interesting and the wife and I put about 1000 miles in the summer per week chasing the ones that we claim.
