This was my second time out with my 100mm macro lens. a bit breezy today, so focusing was difficult. Trying my best to learn to do it hand held at 1:1. I take my hat off to those that get sharp images hand held. Please don't tell me that those of you that go beyond 1:1 that you are doing it hand held. Well any way here are my offerings, all C&C welcome please. Also I am using my DIY flash diffuser/modifier. I think the lighting is pretty good for first attempt. Your thoughts please.

Handholding would be slightly easier with a 60-70mm lens. Also, hope you have IS/OS/VR/VC !

No I don't have IS. Just a straight up 100 macro. Thanks for comments and looking. Doug

Not too shabby!

You are off to a good start. Two suggestions:
1.) Practice, practice, practice;
2.) Do a bit of post processing to improve your capture. The information is there. You just have to share it.

Thanks for the advice. I understand #1 and first part of 2. Please elaborate on the share part. Sometimes I tend to be a little thick. Thanks again. Doug

I was referring to basic post processing: exposure, contrast, color saturation, sharpness, cropping, and sizing.
Once tweaked, revealed detail can be shared.

They seem under-exposed for my tastes-- but maybe that's just me. This is fixable-- over exposure, not so much....

You are way ahead of me in the hand-held so I will take my hat off to you.
