One of our cats Midnight likes to go for a walk in the woods with us. The boys like this photo of her but don't want the date on it. How can I remove it.

This photo was taken with a Kodak Easyshare Z740, we have Picasa but did not see anything that could fix it.

The easy way would be to crop it out, but I have also used the Clone Stamp Tool in Photoshop Elements to paint it out.

Here is a quick use of content aware fill in Photoshop. If you upload the original I can do a better job. In the future turn off the date stamp, it really has no purpose in my option. With digital images the date and time is embedded in the file (that is if the date and time is set properly in the camera) so you alway see when it was taken.

I tried cropping the photo but it took away to much of the woods. I cannot afford photoshop right now, are there any other options.

At the moment we are on a tight budget and have only Picasa and Zune downloaded. I was playing around with the retouch tool but for some reason when I clicked on the date it added branches of the trees, maybe I had the circle to big. Will try that again.
Thanks for the comment on our kitty, she is kind of cute isn't she.

This looks great. I did not even know the date was set on this camera until I downloaded the photo's. The first thing I did was remove it from being on future photo's. I have never used photoshop as I have heard it is quite expensive. Thanks again.

Here is a very quick fix using Picasa's ReTouch tool.
Start by making the tool just a little bigger than the height of the date characters. Then following the instructions, you click on the area you want to replace and then move to the area that has what you want to lay over that date. Then just keep following those steps.

Ok great now I see I had the have the circle a little larger than numbers on the date. Its not the best, but at least I know how to fix it now. Thanks. Here is my edited version, it does need a little work.

Well I guess you figured it out, good thing because I used Adobe cs6 and although it took me about 15 seconds I don't think you have the same tools.
Best of luck

Lori, watch for news of a new version of photoshop Elements. The regular price is about $80. When it comes out, Costco has it for almost half that. Last year it came out in the Fall, I think it was late Sept or early October.
