The moon shot seems to have a little motion blur, what was your shutter speed?

That seems like a good exposure, I've shot slower and had good results. How sturdy is your tripod?

50D, 400mm, ISO100, 1/50, f/11

Thank you. 12 degrees above 0 was a little chilly though.

jerm: your 400mm lens gets my 300mm lens, although i have crop factor of 2.0 to your 1.6(i think)-which gives you 640mm equiv. maybe you are a little closer in colorado than in michigan.

Photo is very good, did you use a remote shutter release or time delay?

Jacks, you could also use the mirror lockup feature of your camera to prevent the camera shake. I know for some canon dslr it would be in the advanced configuration menus. I don't know how to do it on other cameras. You just have to look for that in your camera manual.

Nice pics. The sunset is awesome.
