I don't know what happen, but I can no longer create a new folder in any program on my laptop. When I click on the "new folder" tab, nothing happens. Can anyone suggest what I might do to remedy this situation?

Try "Save As" and include the path for the new folder; sometimes it's smart enough to know what you want, and creates it.

like c:\Public\Pictures\{New Folder}\MyGreatPicture.jpg

After you click on the new folder tab go to a search function and search for "New Folder"

I have something similar at times - When it does, I hit enter, close the folder I'm in then reopen it and the "new Folder" is in the list, which I then rename.

Up-2-IT, I don't following you on "try rebooting." Do you mean shut down the computer, then restart it again? If so, done that, I turn my computer off every night.

Okay, just a thought. Personally don't fool with a MAC other than turn it on and turn it off, wouldn't have that one but it belongs to state. You might have a seed hung up in it somewhere.

MooseEyes, not sure what a cap lock is. I have an HP laptop, I don't see a "cap lock key."

I usually right click then select new from the drop down menu and folder from that.

To jradose:
Looks like it did fix the problem, simply follow these steps:
