What was proposed was a control people law. It was and is called background checks.

Now to buy a gun from a gun store, the owner has to do a gun background check. Why not in other venues?

Background checks are required no matter where you purchase a gun from a dealer.

Are you suggesting a background on private sells between private people? Among friends and family?

The difference here is "Perception" you look at a firearm and see a ugly gun .... an instrument of death, and I look at the same firearm and I may see a a work of art and engineering or a means of putting food on my table to feed my family, a tool that allows me to have a equal or hopefully better ability to protect my family from criminals, rapist, thieves, aggressive wild or sick animals, For me and in my hands the firearm provides me with safety, and security.
