Nikon vs Canon Hornets Nest

I just read this article by Jacob Surland at (http://caughtinpixels.com/) on one photographer's recent decision to go Nikon, and decided to take a kick at the hornet's nest! It hits home with me because I am also a new Nikon devotee with my new D3200 after ten years of Canon D60, then Canon Rebel XTi. He makes a lot of specific comparisms from more of a photographers point of view than just specs and gives some sample photos. His main conclusion that made him sell his Canons was based on lenses, not the cameras themselves. Even now I wouldn't mind having one of those full frame Canon flagship models, (just to help keep the peace).

In espionage you could be called "sold out" or if you are lucky a "double agent".............but in this case you are just stirring shit and running away ...or climbing back up on the fence ......a man has to stand for his convictions! Dammit !

Dude - - is it REALLY worth the Thrash ??
IF I had it to do over again - - I would be much more critical, and look into far more depth about the issues.
But now that I have cast the dice and chosen (10 years ago)
You will have a VERY difficult time convincing me that the time, effort, and hard cold ca$h involved
with changing from company A to company B
will really change anything in terms of image quality, or overall satisfaction with the images I am able to capture.
The hardware I now possess will likely exceed my abilities well into the future.
True whether you have Canon, Nikon, Sony, Leica, Hasselblad, etc.

You seem to have an opinion. It appears as though the OP is not to have that privilege.

Perhaps your panties are just bunched up.

Just thought I would share my thoughts.

Don't care...

I shoot Canon and if Nikon would give me their latest and greatest bodies and lenses for free I certainly wouln't turn them down....in fact I would gladly accept.

These are only tools for photographers and the best camera in the world is the one I have with me at any given moment.

Arguing Canon over Nikon over Sony et al. is a waste of time except for gear heads and pundits that make money reviewing and stirring the pot.

1) I shoot canon.
2) It doesn't matter what the camera make is.
3) This guy started shooting seriously in 2012. Oh yea I'm going
to listen to him.

You Phlogistonians should learn to read the subtleties in our languages, for example, here in the far West, when we start to draw the 44 from the holster then it's time to worry ! 8-)

I'll bet if I posted one shot, and you where to choose what it was shot with, you'd be wrong half of the time. So what would it matter. Tools is tools. I shoot what I shoot. What difference would it make? None.
Shot well my fellow hogs.

As I said I have both Canon and Nikon, it just happened, not really a decision, as stated above I could post A3+ shots from both and no one would know what the camera was that took the shots so..............

All of us have our own reasons for what we decide to buy and use, I am sure you will too.

They all make great cameras, it is an honest waste of good time to discuss such matters.

My view.

I agree, perhaps there should be a list of what not to discuss any more

Purchased a Canon G3 for no apparent reason back in 2002. Liked the features and at that time the 4MP resolution. Had 2 different Kodak digitals and a Sony that wrote to a small CD before the Canon. When finally moving up to DSLR, Canon was the obvious choice. Why chance going to an unfamiliar camera maker since at the time, 2009, Kodak was bankrupt and I don't think Sony was at the level of Canon or Nikon.

I also have both Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras.
I find it amusing that the bloke in the article changed from Canon to Nikon because of lenses.
I changed from Nikon to Canon when going to fullframe because of - you guessed it - lenses.
Well, that and because Nikon took so long to come out with the D700X (D800).
