It has been said the 2nd Amendment protects the 1st Amendment.

So, the best way to overcome the 1st Amendment is to use it to defeat the 2nd Amendment. Then the way is clear.

In case no one has paid attention, we are, in small steps, steadily progressing towards the United States turning into a police state. Nothing blatant - yet! Each small step, from teaching the children from the time they enter the public school system, that "guns" are BAD. up to the accusations in the news today.

A weapon of any kind, be it a firearm, mace or sword, is an inanimate object incapable of inflicting injury unless it is moved and/or manipulated by a person.

Now, even the graphic depiction of a weapon, the "gun", is being taught to be as dangerous as the physical object.

Wake up America - the Thought Police are grouping!

(Just a few random thoughts)
Cheers to all, Neil

Boston situation made me look at how ' Local Police ' are equipped now. Kind of like a little ' local army ' aren't they ?

Automatic weapons, night scopes on helmets, armored vehicles etc etc etc

Looking at the house to house search photo, I wondered if this is what its going to look like when they come for our guns. Kind of like a dress rehearsal?

Not to be disparaging and I am not anti police , But with all their numbers, security, bomb sniffing dogs cameras how many walked by the bombs and never saw the unattended backpack, If it was there before the people started to gather it should have been obvious , If someone pushed thru the crowd with a backpack and left it out in front that should be obvious as well. When Seconds Count - Police Are only minutes Minutes Away

No one talks about how the bad guys are getting bolder, more equipped and deadlier, so what is police to do but get better equipped to combat the bad guys. I think people are forgetting the real threat here, if we don't support and equip the good guys, then the bad guys win. Would you rather have that?

The bombs were placed less than 2 minutes before being detonated. The crowd's attention was on the runners.

I wonder just how many homes in the locked down area wish they had a firearm in the house.

I also wonder just how many did have one.

It's not a wise idea to point a gun at heavy armed cop coming in your front door. When I worked in prison and we were hostages, when the rescuers came in you knew to hit the floor and not move. At that moment they are going to take out anyone that jumped up or posed a threat. Let them do their job.

Not silly, Twardlow. Idiotic. Ignorant. Paranoia bordering on psychosis. And suffering extreme GlennBeckitis. . . . Either that, or he's just another moronic shill for the NRA, reading from the same illiterate script.

About GlennBekitis...are you a believer, or a sceptic?

Surely, you jest, Twardlow. Glenn Beck is certifiable. If the gutless wonders in Congress ever did have the brass ones to pass universal background checks, Glenn Beck would be rejected by every gun dealer in the country. Want to get a good head count of the number of mentally ill people in this country? Add up the total of Glenn Beck "believers." You might want to throw in a few Limbaughites, as well.

Just because you have a gun doesn't mean you'll " point " it at a cop. You ask for verification before you open the door, and then tell them you are armed, then follow directions.

When the police get better armed, so should we get better armed, to better defend our selves. It sure is obvious that the bad guys are arming them selves better with no problem of hurting the general public.

RustyEire:

You are a voice of reason. Soon people will tell you to stop speaking.

BTW the 2d Amendment does not protect the 1st. Nor is their a clause in the Constitution giving anyone the right to rebel against the government.
