I have a Sigma DC 18-250 and when manually focusing the ring, seems rough and catching when adjusting. This seems to be more profound when using the lens fully extended. Appreciate any tips.

This issue came up once before on that lens. The owner returned it ti Sigma for repair and there had been a screw in either the focus mechanism or the zoom that had come loose and was rubbing on the inner barrel. Sigma fixed his for free, since the lens is fairly new and has a 4 year warranty period it should be covered unless you bought it used somewhere.

Good advice. Either way I would stop using it for fear of making it worse and send it out for repair- now. ;)
