I have the Panasonic ZS19 and I was wondering what others have found is the best way to set it up.

Are you using the automatic ia or the P A S or M mode?

What are some of the other internal setting that you have turned on or off?

I also own a ZS19.
Since this is a P+S camera, usually I put it in iA for normal party and street shots. In fact, when in iA, the camera reads scene when pointed at subject, and makes optimum settings automatically (pls refer to manual). Or you can sety at SCN (Scene Mode). Other than iA you might want to set at (P)rogram Mode to set your own settings (macro, burst, Face Detecting, Auto White Balance, etc).

Hello Richard, I have a TZ20 the UK version this is my third one. I started with TZ5,then a TZ10 which I still have but now I have a TZ20. I choose them mainly for the GPS function without knowing what superior images they produce. In answer to your question I use the iA for convenience, the SCN mode set to Landscape for good depth of field, but I usually use "A" set on F4-F5.6, Colour Mode - Natural, and the ISO at 100.
In the SCN avoid HDR it's very disappointing, the Landcape mode on the other hand produces excellent results.
I will attach a few sample shots unedited straight out the camera, taken with above sttings and no zoom.

ZS20 is my Derringer, at my side and ready to shoot. deadly accurate and versatile. To add to that out of the package versatility a filter adapter was added: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-75114-1.html
You will find that 37mm filters are not expensive. ND, CPF, and even IR can be used.

For IR, 650nm is too bright red/visible; 750-850nm work well giving that surreal IR landscape. I did use the 650nm to shoot the moon with interesting effects!!! The dark portion of the moon radiates IR/heat, either stored (doubted) or reflected by heat radiated by the earth.

I am amazed by handheld moon shots. Of course a good deal of post is required to clean up the atmospheric/moisture effects of the Florida moisture. It is awesome to have iA multi-exposures blend multi shots to give moon craters.

Closeups are also amazing considering that fact that we have what is simply and without respect referred to as a point and shoot, P&S.

I have in design, 2nd prototype, a modified 3" Delkin sun shield (protective of screen and allows use in sunlight). The modification allows use of the camera at lower levels (as in waist level) or even putting on the ground. I am using the 2nd proto for a while before I cut another... that 3 will be exact and neat.

Great pictures, you and the camera did great.
As soon as the weather here in NY get better I plan on getting out. Perhaps the Bronx Zoo for some animal pictures.
