Many many years ago I was taking a class on Mechanical Desktop at a local community college. I met anther student that gave me a couple disks with software loaded. One was Photoshop and the other was 3d studio. I wasn't aware of either software programs and didn't realize they were cracked copies. When I downloaded photoshop it just loaded and no serial number or code was required. I didn't use it much for a year or so and then began playing with it. A couple years later I was hooked and decided to see what the latest version was and what improvements had been made if any. I was surprised and ordered the upgrade to the latest version. I downloaded it and registered it and then it dawned n me that I may have been using an illegal copy. To make a long story short, I called Adobe and told them my revelations and asked how I could pay for the difference between the upgrade and full price. The person didn't know how to do it so they got a supervisor in the phone. They were kind of surprised at the request. In the end they said to just enjoy the software and thanked me for attempting to make things right. I have been a loyal and paying customer for photoshop and other Adobe products since. Yes, some of them are expensive but they are also extremely effective.
When some decide to take a free ride it raises the cost for everyone else's fares. I know some don't see what is wrong with that but nevertheless it is theft. If in the case of Photoshop, Gimp is a free alternative for those who don't want to pay for advanced editing software.

if any of you read correctly instead of getting on your high horsr like good little americans you all are!i do belive i said try out!!!!i personally think if you need to use photo shop then your not photographers but digital artists!
It appears that not everyone on a 'high horse' is American. You might notice some are from your part of the world.
Although your personal thoughts are obvious by your posts, it is ironic your post is about using a version of Photoshop for yourself. According to your logic, doesn't that put you in the category of not a photographer but digital artist?
When you find out that a photo you create is pirated by someone else and used to their benefit at your expense, I am sure you will be happy to know that you are not alone in this world where people think like you do.
High horse? I guess we should aspire to being low horses? I prefer to live my life without ghosts chasing me when I go to sleep - a bit of advice from my grandpappy decades go.
Lumpski needs to find a new forum and UHH needs to ban him from future comment. His entire attitude and mode of expression isn't compatible with our values or intent.
LUMPSKI, GO BACK TO THE BUSH.

Please.....someone tell me I'm dreaming and that this is not true. :-(
zneb- you aren't being blamed for the actions of one thieving Aussie who is obviously language impaired. There are always some of these fools everywhere. Fortunately, the reason so many of us have reacted with vitriol is we don't have them on the UHH site. Go away Lumpski!

Considering that you can LEGALLY download trial versions for free, and LEGALLY use them for 30 days, there is no need for pirated software. For ANY reason!!!
If we misread your message, it probably has more to do with spelling and punctuation on your part, than with reading on our part.
I also think you owe the group an apology for your outburst!

Class act here! Real Classy!
I hope your computer blows up and your dog dies.
You are a scab on the human race. Just like scab labor. So you should dry up and go away.
I hope you lose your job.
You are a criminal.
Only scum use pirated software...guess that is you.
One of two things: It is spelled Abode and the pirate cannot spell, or it is really Adobe and YOU cannot spell.
I mean all this in the most constructive way possible.

Isn't it interesting that a person will admit to software piracy, smuggling of stolen property across an international border and possession of stolen intellectual property and believe he can remain anonymous on the internet? Does he realize that someone, anyone can collect up to $5000 just for turning him over to the authorities? And if any of that software is shared and has a virus, he could face a charge of cyber terrorism; the FBI has a new branch that might like to practice by taking this guy down. Ah, but I can dream, cant I!
