An Interview with mopinia

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I've been taking pictures as far back as the mid-80's starting as a studio photographer.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No. No formal training, although I keep abreast of photographic techniques via Youtube and other photography outlets. I do mostly portrait work, formal and candids but I also like to do travel photography when I have the chance.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
It took awhile to get this shot because I wanted a person in the picture to show how tall these ancient structures were. Luckily, this girl casually walks into the pic and that's when I pressed the shutter.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I shot with a Nikon D90 w/ a Sigma 10-20 lens at the high end. No special setup, just lots of patience.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
At the time of the shoot? Um...no. But in post-processing I would add a little vignette to reduce the bright sky.

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Travel and be a gastronome of home-style cooking the world over! Anthony Bordaine and Mark Bittman are my inspiration to travel the world and eat!

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Yes. I have a Smugmug page at http://www.itsagoodting.smugmug.com
