Over the years, his voice never seemed to change. It brought many of the songs he sang 'to life', possibly because he did not sing to 'entertain'.
Saw a Gaither program some years back with Bev, George Yonce and JD Sumner. It was truly amazing at the "Bass" talent of those three, together.
I remember my mother asking if I could find the song "How Great Thou Art" back in the 60s, and I found it on 45 rpm, she really appreciated it.
H had a great voice, and he helped set the stage for Billy.
