Here are some more. These are based on 60 and 30 per cent rotations, which give 6 and 12 faceted designs.
I think of them as a kind of colored snowflake. PhotoFlakes?
I made this for my wife's birthday, using 3 photos of cosmos, which are her favorite
This is based on 3 different fall photos.
This was built up from 4 different photos
One more, using two shots of the same subject, which also appear in te design with the swallowtails
Eye candy! I want to try to do this.
Wow those are beautiful! Are those hard to do???

Okay, you have us hooked! Please, detail.... and go slowly.
Thanks for your kind words. Are they hard to do? That is pretty subjective.....I would say moderately hard. You need a steady hand fitting the pieces together, the ability to visualize what needs to happen, and a feel for the angles required.
Once again, I use CorelDraw for most of the designing; I am not familiar with Photoshop.
As to how to do it....see my post on November 10, called Kaleidoscopic design - procedure. That gives the basics for the composition shown there. The difference between that design and these is that these are based on 60 and 30 degree rotations, giving a more rounded effect.
These rotations give 6 and 12 sided figures. The 12 pointed star effect in the second and third designs above are achieved by making a 6 sided figure, duplicating it, and rotating the dupe...by 30 degrees I think.
One of the fun parts of this is that almost any picture yields interesting results, though some clearly work better than others. Every one is a bit of a surprise.
Blessings
OOPS...I meant the 12 pointed star effect in 2 and 4th designs, not the 3rd. Should have proofread.
That sure is creative that's for sure. Well done!!!

I love the butterfly. Very nice. I guess I am going to have to give this a try.
What size do you print these? and where? On canvas? You could have a whole gallery of awesome photos!

I am just printing them myself on 8 1/2 sheets of photo paper. I did talk to a local camera shop about making bigger prints. I would like to frame a couple of these.
