It's a Passalid beetle - common name bessie bugs. Nice shots. The larvae look a LOT like the typical grub worm, but have only two well developed forelegs. the third one is just a nub. Real grub worms (Scarab beetle larvae) have three well developed.
Adult beetles make an odd squeak when they're handled by rubbing two body parts together.

no,i didnt touch or mess with it at all except to snap these shots.i dont hear high sounds anyway.
Wow, his armor seems to have been doing a great job of protecting him - lots of dings and scratches.
