The proposed law is intending to ban un-manned aerial drones, not specifically photography, but photography from them. Many states are currently considering the same actions. It will prevent aerial spying by local governments as well. The bill will do nothing to stop a farmer from hiring a photographer to take a photo from a regular airplane.

Haven't read the bills myself but I'm not sure you're talking about the same bill. Here's another article by the same photographer for a different blog where he mentions talking to the legislator....

Know do you understand the NRA's position on giving any ground on any amendments?

It starts innocently enough, then we get nonsense like this.

My question on the barns is this, didn't Mail Pouch Tobacco have a lot of signs on barns in Pa, Ohio and other areas with vast rural areas? How are we suppose to get those pictures now?

wouldn't it make more sense to tighten and prosecute the smut industry or child pornographers.I think all these new laws they want to pass are just brought forth because they want to be heard.and they can't think of anything intelligent. Before anyone says to mind my own business,I'm not passing judgement on your politicians. We have the same nincompoops over here.

In our day and age, these incursions into our lives is just another way of regulating how people are supposed to act, given "big brother" is watching... George Orwell in his book, 1984, was very succinct in that he predicted how, in the future, government, if we let it, will regulate anything and everything we do. I do not want to be an alarmist, but.....
When i go on vacation, there are many things that are so pleasing to the eye, that are changing, that i want to record it for the future. I can understand that pictures used for advertising purposes to earn money for the photographer, should get the owners permission to take a photo. But, for editorial and fine art use, there should not be any regulations.

Agreed. My goodness oversensitivity, unless the fed or state government actually owns the structures and is doing top secret activities in them. Not likely though lol.

I think its the goverment studying those farting cows. They want to find a way to bottle it and run those gov.cars. That will only stink up DC even more. Our tax dollars at work.
