Thats GREAT! I really need this feature. But think I will wait for the final version, no beta for me.

Thanks for the input.

It works great...and remember...it installs ALONG SIDE regular Lightroom, it's totally separate...even if it didn't work for you you can uninstall and it won't affect LR4.

Thanks, I may just do it. Sounds like a great upgrade from LR 4.4

If you are a member (or not) of N.A.P.P., Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski really give it a good once over. Smart Previews...what a bonus....

The beta upgrades won't even let you import your current catalog into it. So if you want to practice you can have copies of your images added to a LR 5 catalog or new photos. That is a nice feature

True you add pictures to practice on. It was the same way with LR4 beta
I have both installed LR 4 and LR 5 beta and add some photos to the beta to try it out. I like what i have seen so far. Cannot wait for the actual version to be released

Primary Known Issues with the Beta:

◾Lightroom 5 beta is not complete but please provide feedback on the available enhancements.
◾Lightroom 5 beta will not upgrade Lightroom 1.x, Lightroom 2.x, Lightroom 3.x, or Lightroom 4.x catalogs. The beta is intended to be used for testing and feedback purposes. Lightroom 1.x, 2.x, 3.x , 4.x and 5 beta libraries will be able to be migrated to the finished version of Lightroom 5.
◾While data loss is not expected, this is an early ‘beta’ quality build and you should always work on duplicates of files that are securely backed up.
◾Lightroom 5 beta will not overwrite or interfere with a machine that currently has Lightroom 1, Lightroom 2, Lightroom 3, or Lightroom 4 installed.
◾Develop settings applied in Lightroom 5 beta are not guaranteed to transfer correctly to the final version of Lightroom 5
◾The Lightroom 5 beta will expire after Lightroom 5.0 is available

So far I am liking it, seems to have better memory management. I have a 27 inch I mac with an i7 chip 8 gigs of ram and sometimes when I make adjustments in LR 4 the photo would blink and then come back, with LR 5 the adjustments are live on the screen as they are happening.

The spot brush is nice but in my mind I wan it to be content aware an its not you have to pick the spot it pulls from, it's nice that you can do irregular shapes now.

I just have the auto correct set for my lens prophiles that is a nice feature and the radial blurr I wasn't sure about last night but before work today I was using it and it just clicked that's a great feature for making backgrounds go soft, dark, light what ever you want.

I will be using it more later

It works fine, I always like testing things out before they are released. As a creative cloud member it will be available to me when the full versions released. I really find the new radial blur brush (mask) to be a feature I think I can use in lots of ways. You can isolate one small portion of a photo and make that area pop, while letting the rest of the photo fade into the back ground.

Well...like all Adobe products...anyone (even a non-registered user) can use the beta during the testing period free of charge...the same when for CS5, CS6 etc.

Are ou using Lion? I read it requires Lion or Mountain Lion and I don't want to upgrade so than some of my older applications will require upgrading also.

I have lion I did not do the last upgrade either, I didn't check system requirements. So far I really like how it performs, it's a lot faster then 4. I keep forgetting the clone tool is not content aware, and when you do cloning out of objects it really doesn't seem to pick the best target area for the replacement. I do find myself readjusting the target area. There might be a preference I can set I really have not looked yet.

I also heard today that Lightroom for I pad is going to be released. I did get an e mail saying my creative cloud storage name is being changed today and there is now an I pad app so I can get to my cloud storage

Last I looked this afternoon there wasn't a new app
