Lightroom 5 beta is out....! here are the best new features.
Yes..and the "Auto straighten horizon and distortion" tool...
I received an email that said it's not actually out yet, just this trial version which was offered to me to "test" the new options and report my experiences,so they can continue to fine tune it. Then when it's completed I will be sent the full version. I have been impressed with what I have seen so far. They have already fixed every complaint I had.

yes...it's just a public beta.
I'll admit I haven't been using LR4 for very long, but have noticed a couple of things. One, the Clarity adjustment, from what I have read, is suppose to be a 'local contrast' adjustment. Others wise known as DeFog. The PSE 10 UnSharp mask seems to work a lot better. In the print module, there seems to be a lot less control of the printer when using manufactures paper and ICS profiles.
Also, I see no way to change the image size or resolution within LR4.
If you are a point&shoot user, like me, there doesn't seem to be much use for LR4 and I don't see any advantage to upgrading to LR5, unless it's free.

Interesting take...I would say that they are two different things.

There is full control via the "export" function...any size, resolution, file type, etc....all available.

No idea...I don't use a point and shoot.
